Why ORCID, and How to get started

  • ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a unique, persistent 16 digital identifier for researchers and scholars.

  • It helps distinguish individuals in the research community and ensures that their work is correctly attributed to them, even if they change institutions, names, or affiliations.
